As a southern born girl I hate the cold but love the fall and winter accessories. Living in New York City the past few years I’ve learned the value of a good coat! Having both style and functionality is KEY. You want something that will keep you warm in the various parts of Fall and Winter (light jacket, medium jacket, and walking sleeping bag jacket is how I like to think of it). But since your outfit is covered up by a coat most of the day, you also want it to be cute! No matter where you live, you’ll probably end up wearing a coat for at least a little bit during the year, so it might as well be something you love. This year the leather moto jacket was a super big trend (I myself went out and bought this leather jacket from Shopbop during their last sale). In addition to the leather jacket, bombers, trench, oversized, and even blazers were also popular. I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite in each style to share with you. I’ve been really into wearing over the knee boots (or OTK for short) since last winter. I got these brown leather Dolce Vita boots from Shopbop last year (they’re sold out now but you can still get them on sale here). In the past I always styled my OTK boots with leggings or jeans, but I recently got into wearing them with dresses. The dress I wore here is from Necessary Clothing (btw if you like it you should get it now because it’s almost sold out!) . The dress has a mock neck top and a curved hemline that ends with two slits on the side. It is made to fit really snug and show off all your curves. I decided to size up in order to have it slightly less “painted on” looking lol.
It’s pretty obvious that the world is in love with (or maybe we’re all just jealous). It is hard to see the difference at times but one thing for sure is that we can’t seem to get enough of their style. From their shoes to their hair, we’re always trying to steal their style. (more…)
So I’m all about a good deal, but sometimes it’s worth it to pay a little extra for the real thing. When it comes to accessories I’m more willing to splurge if it’s an investment piece I can see myself wearing for a long time. For more trendier items, I would rather save because I know that I’m only going to wear them for a season or so before I donate them. Recently I shared my favorite ankle booties for Fall and one of the boots on this list was the leather buckle booties from Moschino. To me these boots are like the shoe version of the super trendy moto jacket. Just like I love my moto jacket, I looovvee these shoes. I found a similar pair from Guess for a fraction of the price. So, would I save or splurge on this look? At the end of the day, between the two I would pick (more…)
If there is one thing that I’m kinda insecure about when it comes to my look it’s my booties. And by booties I mean my ankle boots, not my Kim K hump lol! Once Fall hits it seems like every girl I see magically has their ankle boot game on fleek. Despite shopping every season and often asking girls were they got their boots from, I never seem to find the same amazing ankle boots I see on other people. This year I did a little research and online shopping to help me step my boot game up (pun intended). I found several that are super cute and even a few on sale (praise Him!!). My favorite one I found is this black geometric chunky heel pair. I love the way they look but they are definitely not in the budget for this year. Another one of my favorite booties I found for everyday use are these from Miista Kendall. This swede fringe ankle boot from Joie Lauren and this one from Sam Edelman are cute takes on the fringe trend. Lastly, my favorite budget find are these brown booties from Forever21. My favorite part of Fall is when the weather is cool enough to wear Fall clothes but warm enough that you can skip the jacket. I’ve been wanting to wear a button front skirt for months, but couldn’t decide on the perfect one until a recent shopping trip to Urban Outfitters. Their button front skirt game was super STRONG so I had a ton of different options to choose from. I ended up getting the BDG Twill Button Front A-Line Skirt in the shade mustard.

Summer might be gone but that doesn’t mean you have to pack away your bright colors as well. As we head towards autumn and eventually winter, adding pops of vibrant color is one way to still keep your outfits crisp and fresh. The great thing about bright colors is that they can be blended with white fashion items so that the outfit doesn’t become overwhelming. Keep reading to learn my three tips on keeping your outfit bright and colorful for Fall.
There are a lot of amazing things I love about living in New York City. From experiencing all four seasons, to 24 hour stores. But definitely on the top of my list is New York Fashion week. I’ve been fortunate enough to attend six seasons already and each one has been a unique experience. This past SS16 season was no different. Between shows, events, and catching up with other bloggers it was a nonstop week. Out of all the things I cover for fashion week, one of my favorite duties is checking out the beauty backstage at the shows. I’ve rounded-up some of the most wearable backstage beauty looks with tips on how you can recreate the look from runway to real life.
