If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you know my style is what I like to call “Fancy Frugal”. I like to mix high end fashion with lower end fashion deals to give an overall “fancy” look for a fraction of the price. Recently I got the opportunity to team up with JCPenney to check out some of their new Fall fashion. I was pleasantly surprised to find so many on-trend Fall pieces at a really good price.

Since I first moved to New York, one thing has remained the same… Soho is my favorite neighborhood. There’s something about the atmosphere there that always reminds me why I fell in love with New York in the first place. So naturally when people ask for suggestions, I always tell them to visit Soho! Keep reading to find out why.
It’s hard to believe fashion week has already come and gone. I’ve been fortunate to attend fashion week every season since I moved to new york. Each season is unique and special. This season I kicked off fashion week by partnering with Family Dollar as a part of their FDFabulous campaign. #FDFabulous strives to celebrate African-American women by highlighting how inner beauty combined with style translates to Fabulous, fantastic, and fashionable looks for less.

So I’m all about a good deal, but sometimes it’s worth it to pay a little extra for the real thing. When it comes to accessories I’m more willing to splurge if it’s an investment piece I can see myself wearing for a long time. For more trendier items, I would rather save because I know that I’m only going to wear them for a season or so before I donate them. Recently I shared my favorite ankle booties for Fall and one of the boots on this list was the leather buckle booties from Moschino. To me these boots are like the shoe version of the super trendy moto jacket. Just like I love my moto jacket, I looovvee these shoes. I found a similar pair from Guess for a fraction of the price. So, would I save or splurge on this look? At the end of the day, between the two I would pick (more…)

If you follow fashion news (or the buzz on budget blogs) you’ve been anticipating for a few weeks now Forever21’s new even lower priced store, F21 Red. The concept behind F21 Red is said to be providing basics at deeper discounted prices (as if Forever21 wasn’t cheap enough). The first F21 Red store officially launched this past Saturday in the Azalea Shopping Center just outside of Los Angeles, California. Prices have been reported ranging from $1.80 (camisoles) up to $7.80 for denim. Forever 21 hasn’t yet announced any plans to roll out more F21 Red stores and appears to be using this first store to test the market.
Interestingly enough, this new store comes just as other retail chains also are working on possible lower priced stores such as J Crew’s “Mercantile” and Abercrombie and Fitch’s plan to change Hollister to a cheaper fast fashion brand.
Comment below and share your thought on this new store? Are you excited to see an even more budget friendly version of Forever 21?
