If you didn’t know already, October is breast cancer awareness month. I personally feel like this is the first year in which I’ve heard from so many different sources about campaigns and ways to get involved in the fight. I’m proud to be partnered up with Ralph Lauren to help increase awareness.
I’m always on the look out for easy ways to add moisture to my skin, so much so that I use to apply body oil in the shower before coming out and towel drying. I loved that in sealed in moisture but hated how messy it made my towels and tub. Fast forward a few years, I heard about the new Dove Dry Oil Collection and I jumped at the opportunity to partner with Dove to try it out. I used argan oil on my hair for years and knew the benefits of this oil so I wash excited to try it in my skincare. The Dove Dry Oil Collection features their Dove Dry Oil Beauty Bar and Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash. Because 9 in 10 women are concerned about having dry skin, Dove Dry Oil Moisture Body Wash goes beyond basic moisturizing to help women nourish and protect their dry skin.
Product Description: The Dove Dry Oil collection helps nourish and protect skin from dryness in the shower by effectively cleansing without leaving skin feeling dry and features a nourishing formula infused with Moroccan Argan oil beads to gently cleanse while helping to replenish nutrients to the skin. Finding a foundation that matches your skin perfectly is hard for most people, especially women of color. I’m constantly looking for a foundation that is deep enough, doesn’t have red undertones (because most darker shades do for some reason), and lastly won’t leave behind a weird grayish-or ashy undertone. A few months back I did a photoshoot at Sephora and got to get my face glammed with all Smashbox cosmetics. While there was a few products I really liked, the foundation was definitely my favorite by far. I ended up purchasing it in shade 9 and I have been using it for a few months now.
Product Description: Like most foundations, this product comes in a small glass foundation tube with a pump applicator that makes it super easy to use. It’s a light- medium coverage foundation.
Price: $42 (available at Sephora and Ulta)
Application: I applied it as I do most of my foundations, using my short round kabuki brush all over my face over my face primer.
The holidays are here and when it comes to beauty, that means special limited edition items! I’m already a fan of several Tarte products so when I recently got the opportunity to try their holidaze limited edition products I jumped at the chance.
Product: Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation
To be honest, I only recently heard about Hourglass cosmetics within the last year or so. I was curious about the brand so when I got the opportunity to receive a few of their products for review consideration I was really excited. I was sent the Immaculate liquid powder mattifying oil free foundation (try saying that name three times fast). As the name suggests, this foundation is designed to work as a mattifying foundation with a “liquid to powder” finish (wish I knew about this product during the summer!!). It comes in a slender tube container with a pump applicator top (yass!! three snaps for a pump!!). I was given the two darkest shades which are “sable” and “chestnut.” Immediately I could tell sable was too light and chestnut just BARELY fit my complexion (I added a little bronzer to the outter edge of my face to help it blend).
Recently, I was sent Proganix’s Quench line for consideration and at first, I was a little skeptical to try it. You can’t blame me though, I love my hair and I don’t want to ruin it with a bad hair day so I’m always nervous about trying new products! Amid all the nerves and excitement over trying a new product, I decided to give it a go and I’m actually happy I did! Keep reading to hear my experience and thoughts with this product!
Price: Quench Shampoo Moisturizing + Nourish and Quench Conditioner Moisturizing + Nourish are $9.99 each and the Quench Moisture Balm and Quench Leave-In Moisture + Nourish are $11.99 each.
Product Description: These products are designed to moisturize and nourish your hair. They are made with all organic ingredients, not tested on animals, and leaves your hair feeling silky smooth, shiny, and weightless. The price of each one is very reasonable for the amount of product you get and the quality of them, too.
Yes, that says charcoal! It may sound a little crazy, but charcoal is one of the new “it” ingredient in beauty. Charcoal absorbs oils and debris from pores on your face and body like it’s going out of style. Your skin will be screaming thank you the first time you try it out! Activated charcoal, carbon, has been used for years and years before it found its way into beauty products. Charcoal use to be used to treat alcohol poisoning because it attaches to toxins in the stomach and getting rid of them like it’s garbage day (please don’t try this at home though). With that being said, I’m going to share with you why charcoal is getting all this much deserved love and some great charcoal products you can try too!
Recently, I received the Nude Progenius Omega Treatment Rescue Oil and the Nude Progenius Omega Treatment Milk Serum and I was ecstatic because who can ever have enough skincare products? Nude Skincare is all about healthy yet high performance products so my expectations for both of these products was pretty high.
One of my favorite things about Fall is changing up my makeup and clothes for the season. I always get excited to unpack my cold weather clothing and start doing deep makeup looks inspired by colors of the season. So when I received the new Butter London shadow palette clutch I was so excited to see the pretty neutral colors, perfect for Fall shadow looks.
