It’s hard to believe fashion week has already come and gone. I’ve been fortunate to attend fashion week every season since I moved to new york. Each season is unique and special. This season I kicked off fashion week by partnering with Family Dollar as a part of their FDFabulous campaign. #FDFabulous strives to celebrate African-American women by highlighting how inner beauty combined with style translates to Fabulous, fantastic, and fashionable looks for less.
We started off the day with a fun and energetic hip hop yoga class at Y3 studio. Then from there we whisked away to the Youtube space in NY for a private tour of the facilities they have for vloggers. After our fun tour we met up with more members of the Unilever team for a delicious lunch at Fig and Olive. Fig and Olive has been on my list of restaurants to try out for forever so I was thrilled to finally get a chance to go. Our next stop after lunch was the Tresemme NYFW Salon for dry styling before going to the Marissa Webb fashion week show.
In addition to all the events and festivities, we also got to hear more about the awesome beauty products offered at Family Dollar. I got to try out the degree motion sense deodorant. A deodorant that actually responds to motion and starts to kick in more once the friction begins. I also got to learn all about other tresemme products great for natural hair. I was surprised to learn name brand products like Degree, Caress and Tresemme are all offered at Family Dollar for lower prices. If you’re looking to save money (and who isn’t), switching to Family Dollar for your beauty products is a great way to cut cost without cutting quality.
Until next time fashion week!
