Clearly the “Rihanna rain” is showing no signs of “letting up”, and we as devout fans couldn’t be more excited. Since we can’t be BFFLs with RiRi and borrow items out of her amazing closet, we’ve had to settle for just smelling like Rihanna and using her amazing makeup looks as inspiration, but after this past week, we can all collectively take two giant steps closer towards officially stealing her style. This past week Rihanna rang in her 25th birthday by taking a highly documented (aka instagramed) trip to Hawaii, showed her Rihanna for River Island Collection at London Fashion Week, and oh yea if that wasn’t enough, announced her newest gig as a “creative partner” for MAC cosmetics. If that’s not a good birthday week, we don’t know what is.
In true Rihanna trendsetting like fashion, this union is being reported as unlike any MAC has done before. According WWD, “although MAC has collaborated with myriad brands and celebrities in the past, this is the first time the brand has worked with a famous person for more than just a one-off project.” John Demsey, group president of MAC’s parent company, even went as far as to DTR (define the relationship) saying “We always say that MAC likes to go on a date but doesn’t really want to go into a relationship, this relationship with Rihanna is a long-term one that involves the development of four distinct color initiatives.” So MAC want’s to date RiRi too?, clearly we’re not the only one loving her as our bad girl alter-ego ;).

Sleeveless turtlenecks in the 90’s were like the shoulder pads of the 80’s, everyone was doing it and no one was quite sure why. Are you trying to keep from catching a cold or are you trying to hide a hickey from your parents a la Full House? What ever the case apparently the 90’s are back… and I’m loving it! All jokes aside I love this trend and can’t wait till mine arrives in the mail. I bought a regular plain old sheer turtle neck from Express last year to wear to work in the winter and to my surprise, I ended up wearing it more than I anticipated. Since the summer I’ve been on the hunt for a cropped sleeveless variety but couldn’t find one anywhere until I finally tracked one down at American Apparel. I liked the look of it but not the price so I held off on buying it. Naturally, I was super pumped when I stumbled upon this one at ASOS yesterday during their Cyber Monday Sale, for less than half the price of the American Apparel one.
Need more convincing? Still not sure about this trend? Check out some of these stylish celebs rocking the trend!
